You know what they say about the past, and how it helps you and even determine your future? Yes, it's true. How you've lived your past, the things you went through, the things you did not go through, the dreams you had, the plans you've made, these things altogether make up a very large contribution to how your future will end up to be. Those little dreams you once had will be your peg in living your present to get to where you want. At times when we thought that we were just simple dreaming, and probably laughed at that insanity or even considered those dreams as folly at once, we are actually sublimely affected by those dreams or follies, and then we just snap and tell ourselves, hey, this is where I've wanted to be when I was small. We then realize that we unconsciously made our way to that dream, guided by our fantasies from younger years.

My past keep me sane, when things start to get too much to handle. Our present can get overwhelming and relentless that we sometimes irresponsibly make compulsive decisions, just to keep up with the flow. So at times we find ourselves not in the best places, and with not so good circumstances, we feel lost and deranged with the sudden turn of events. It's okay to feel mad and sorry, a temporary self-blaming may help you in realizing the mistakes done, but lingering in self-loathing and resentment will not make things better. It will affect your outlook and disposition in life, it will degrade relationships with other people who care for you more than you've imagined. Begin to clear your thoughts, check your life and take a little walk to your past, see how far you've got yourself into, look at the things you've both surpassed and even failed at, then give yourself a pat on the shoulder for making it that far, because the truth is it takes so much courage to get to where you are now. Even the pain and the struggles will have a different effect on you now, you will be thankful for them, because without them things that you enjoy right now will not be as meaningful as they are now.

They say that we should always keep moving forward, just roll with the punches and never look back, but for me, it's important to take a step backwards, look back and give yourself a break, theres only so much that you can do. It's not that bad to sometimes counter the flow, you'll never know what other things that you could experience if you brave to do something different. When you look back, or take a step backwards, you will see a bigger picture of what's yet to come, and from there you'll be more certain of where you're heading to.
